Moving, damage control & bed spreads that look like giant marshmallows

This last week has been a complete blur of boxes, car troubles, pie, and more boxes.

Moving day went pretty smoothly, except for when my new and also used car broke down for what seems like the millionth time since I bought it maybe a month ago. This car has not seemed to have a week go by where something doesn’t make noise/fall off/break/etc. The tall one says we might have to sell it and cut our loses but I DO NOT want to deal with buying a new car again. Way too much time spent on craigslist car hunting and house hunting in the last few months.

Bean (that’s the car) seemed fine that day and drove like normal, but when I parked it at my old apartment to load up boxes to move, it wouldn’t start again once we were ready to take off. So we ditched it. The move itself only took 4 hours start to finish - thank goodness for lots of men carrying boxes.

The next day was supposed to be the day to get all settled, but instead we spent all day dealing with the dang car which included a lot of walking around in the rain, catching buses and waiting inordinate amounts of time for tow trucks.

The last two nights were spent cleaning out our old studio (fun stuff like scrubbing refrigerators and trying to match paint samples at Home Depot) . It turns out I have been so focused on the move and getting out I kept forgetting about all the transition BS. Now, five days after moving in we - fingers crossed - have time to get settled.

Which is good because now I can get down to the GOOD SHIT. I am seemingly becoming more obsessed by the hour with all things to do with interior design, holiday decorating and general nesting tendencies. Luckily I live with a man that couldn’t care less about bed spreads and curtains and carpets and kitchen towels. I literally keep catching myself day dreaming in different color palettes for different rooms. My main outlets to obsess over interior design so far are Pinterest, Design Sponge, decor8, and cococozy. If you know of equally kick-ass places to drool over such things please tell me. Seriously.

My most recent awesome purchase? I bought this deliciously perfect duvet cover and matching pillow set in white today. It reminds me of a giant marshmallow that you could just float in. I plan to be sleeping like a baby in 4-6 business days.
